TrueBeam Linear Accelerator
High-throughput LINAC for IMRT, VMAT and SBRT.

High-dose radiotherapy delivered 4× faster — without compromise on precision.
TrueBeam is Varian's flagship linear accelerator, delivering radiation therapy at speeds up to 4× faster than conventional systems. Many SBRT treatment courses complete in under two minutes of beam-on time. Integrated kV/MV CBCT and OBI imaging verify patient position at every fraction — ensuring sub-millimetre daily accuracy across a full caseload from complex SRS and SBRT to routine palliative treatments. TrueBeam is the workhorse LINAC for high-volume African cancer centres where throughput, precision and application range must all be maximised.

Speed
TrueBeam delivers dose at up to 2,400 MU/min — completing many SBRT sessions in under 2 minutes of beam-on time and enabling 4× the daily patient throughput of conventional linear accelerators.
Precision
kV and MV cone-beam CT imaging, online image review and sub-millimetre isocentric accuracy ensure the prescribed dose reaches the tumour — and not the surrounding tissue — at every fraction.
Versatility
One system covers the full radiotherapy caseload: 3D-CRT, IMRT, VMAT, SBRT, SRS and stereotactic radiosurgery for brain and spine — eliminating the need for multiple dedicated machines.
Ultra-fast delivery for high-volume oncology centres.
At 2,400 MU/min, TrueBeam completes many stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) fractions in under two minutes of beam-on time. For African cancer centres managing large patient backlogs with limited machine capacity, this throughput advantage is transformative — more patients treated per machine per day, with no reduction in treatment quality.

Image-guided radiotherapy — every patient, every fraction.
TrueBeam's integrated imaging suite includes kV and MV cone-beam CT (CBCT), planar imaging and fluoroscopic tracking. Before each fraction, the clinical team reviews the patient's anatomy, matches it to the reference CT, and corrects position to sub-millimetre accuracy. This is not optional — it is the standard of care for all IMRT, VMAT and SBRT treatments, and it is included in every TrueBeam installation.

Commissioning, training and QA programme — managed by Jos•Hansen.
TrueBeam commissioning requires photon and electron beam data acquisition, multi-leaf collimator calibration, imaging system integration and treatment planning system (TPS) beam model commissioning. Jos•Hansen's certified medical physicists manage this entire process. Clinical staff receive hands-on training in TrueBeam operation, image review workflows, and motion management protocols. Ongoing QA includes machine output constancy, MLC transmission and Winston-Lutz end-to-end accuracy testing.

Why TrueBeam.
4× throughput advantage
Ultra-high dose rate delivery completes many SBRT fractions in under 2 minutes — treating more patients per machine per day without reducing quality.
IGRT at every fraction
Integrated kV/MV CBCT and OBI verify patient positioning to sub-millimetre accuracy before every treatment — not just selected fractions.
Full application range
3D-CRT, IMRT, VMAT, SBRT, SRS — one TrueBeam system handles the complete radiotherapy caseload across all disease sites.
End-to-end delivery
Jos•Hansen manages TrueBeam installation, beam commissioning, TPS integration, staff training and scheduled preventive maintenance.
