Air Quality & Noise Monitoring
Fixed and portable air quality monitoring stations, stack emissions analysers and noise measurement instruments for regulatory compliance.
Air pollution is now the single largest environmental health risk across African cities.
The World Health Organization estimates that outdoor air pollution causes 600,000 premature deaths across Africa every year, driven by vehicle emissions, industrial activity, biomass burning and dust. The majority of African cities operate without a single regulatory-grade ambient air monitoring station, making evidence-based pollution management and regulatory enforcement impossible. Jos•Hansen supplies the ambient air quality monitoring infrastructure, industrial stack emissions analysers and occupational noise measurement instruments that enable governments, municipalities and industrial operators to measure air quality against WHO and national standards and take informed enforcement action.
Multi-pollutant stations measure six criteria pollutants continuously.
Jos•Hansen ambient air quality monitoring stations measure PM2.5, PM10, nitrogen dioxide, sulphur dioxide, ozone and carbon monoxide in a single integrated station operating around the clock. All analysers are certified to equivalent reference method standards, generating data that satisfies national regulatory requirements and international reporting obligations. Stations are available in containerised, roadside kiosk and rooftop configurations, connected via 4G cellular to a centralised data management platform.
Stack emissions monitors provide continuous industrial compliance data.
Continuous emissions monitoring systems at industrial stack outlets measure particulate matter, sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxides and carbon monoxide in the stack gas stream, transmitting data to the national environmental agency data acquisition system. Regulatory-compliant systems archive all values with timestamps, calibration records and QA flags, generating the automated compliance reports required under national air emission standards. Jos•Hansen CEMS installations include stack gas conditioning, analyser cabinets, calibration gas delivery systems and operator training.
Noise dosimetry protects workers and demonstrates regulatory compliance.
Occupational noise above 85 dB(A) causes permanent hearing loss and creates significant liability under national occupational health and safety legislation. Casella and Pulsar noise dosimeters worn by workers measure personal noise exposure over a full shift, generating TWA and LMAX data demonstrating compliance with national OHS noise limits. Environmental noise surveys at facility boundaries use Type 1 sound level meters with octave band analysis to assess community noise impact against regulatory limits.
What Jos•Hansen delivers beyond the machine.
Supplying the equipment is step one. The clinical programme only works when commissioning, physics, training and service are executed to the same standard.
Turnkey commissioning
From site survey and civil requirements through shielding design, beam data acquisition, TPS integration and regulatory submission — our certified medical physicists manage the full process. No system treats a patient without our acceptance sign-off.
Multi-vendor independence
We supply Accuray, Varian, Elekta and PTW — advising on the system that fits your patient volume and clinical programme, not a manufacturer's sales quota. Our recommendation is always clinical, not commercial.
Post-warranty lifecycle continuity
When manufacturer service contracts expire, Jos•Hansen continues. Planned maintenance, QA audits and genuine spare parts sourcing sustain radiotherapy systems for 5–10 years beyond the standard OEM support period.
Regulatory compliance support
We prepare radiation safety assessments, equipment qualification reports and QA programme documentation for submission to national regulatory authorities across East and Southern Africa.
Measurable clinical performance.
Every system we install is measured against published clinical and dosimetric standards. These are the numbers your medical physicists and clinical governance teams will audit.
End-to-end targeting accuracy of CyberKnife S7 and TrueBeam, measured to ISO 9283 — the international standard for industrial robot repeatability applied to radiosurgery.
Local control rates for radiosurgery across selected indications, consistent across peer-reviewed clinical literature (Int J Radiation Oncology, 2019–2024).
Reduction in mean dose to organs at risk with IMRT and VMAT compared to conventional 3D conformal radiotherapy, per published dosimetric studies.
Ambient, industrial and occupational air monitoring.
Fixed multi-pollutant ambient stations, continuous stack emissions monitors and Class 1 noise dosimeters give regulators and operators the complete measurement infrastructure for air quality and occupational noise compliance.
Global manufacturers. African execution.
Every product we supply is sourced from world-class manufacturers and backed by Jos•Hansen's local installation, training and service capability across East and Southern Africa.
