Water Quality Monitoring & Treatment

Water Quality Monitoring & Treatment

Multiparameter water analysers, treatment plants and telemetry logging that meet WHO drinking water and wastewater standards.

Over 400 million Africans lack access to safely managed drinking water.

Access to clean water is the foundation of public health, economic productivity and ecological stability. Across sub-Saharan Africa, rapid population growth, industrial expansion and climate variability are placing water resources under unprecedented stress. Contaminated drinking water kills more people every year than malaria, tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS combined, yet the majority of African water utilities operate without the continuous quality monitoring infrastructure needed to detect contamination events before they reach consumers. Jos•Hansen supplies the full range of water quality monitoring, treatment and telemetry infrastructure needed to close this gap, from portable field analysers for community water points to fixed multiparameter stations for municipal water treatment plants and national river quality networks.

Multiparameter sondes measure 20+ water quality indicators simultaneously.

YSI EXO and Hach multiparameter sondes measure pH, dissolved oxygen, conductivity, turbidity, nitrate, ammonium, chlorophyll and temperature in a single deployment, reducing fieldwork time by 70% compared to single-parameter sampling. Real-time telemetry transmits data to cloud dashboards via 4G cellular, triggering SMS and email alerts when any parameter exceeds the configured regulatory threshold. Data is archived in regulatory-compliant formats for national environment agency submission and audit.

Reverse osmosis removes 99% of dissolved contaminants from source water.

Reverse osmosis membranes remove dissolved salts, heavy metals, nitrates, fluoride and microbiological contaminants to below WHO drinking water guideline concentrations, producing safe water from sources that conventional treatment cannot clean. Jos•Hansen designs and commissions RO plants from 500 to 50,000 litres per hour capacity for rural health facilities, urban water utilities and industrial process water applications. Each installation includes pre-treatment, automated CIP cleaning systems and a remote monitoring interface.

UV disinfection eliminates waterborne pathogens without chemical residue.

Ultraviolet disinfection systems destroy bacteria, viruses and protozoa at doses achievable in a single pass, without adding chemicals that create taste, odour or disinfection by-products. Jos•Hansen UV systems are sized to the specific flow rate and UV transmittance of each water source, with automatic lamp intensity monitoring and dose verification alerts. UV disinfection is particularly cost-effective for rural boreholes and springs where chemical dosing infrastructure is not practical.

One supplier. The complete theatre environment.

Piecemeal procurement produces piecemeal theatres. Jos•Hansen designs, supplies and commissions the entire surgical suite — so every system works as a unit from day one.

Africa-utilisation specified

Every product is selected for high-frequency, variable power supply environments. LED lights with battery backup, tables with manual hydraulic override, sterilisers calibrated for local water chemistry.

Full IQ/OQ/PQ validation

CSSD commissioning includes Installation Qualification, Operational Qualification and Performance Qualification — the complete validation package required for hospital accreditation and infection control audit.

Endoscopy network integration

We configure image capture, recording and remote-viewing networks alongside the endoscopy towers — enabling surgical teaching, case review and medico-legal documentation without third-party IT involvement.

In-service training included

Theatre nurses, biomedical technicians and surgeons receive hands-on training on every system we install. Refresher training and competency assessment are available under ongoing service contracts.

What the numbers say.

Theatre infrastructure choices have measurable clinical consequences. These are the benchmarks your theatre manager and infection control lead will be accountable to.

Global manufacturers. African execution.

Every product we supply is sourced from world-class manufacturers and backed by Jos•Hansen's local installation, training and service capability across East and Southern Africa.
